So BA is reconfiguring their ClubClass and offers 4-class service. Can you imagine having to FACE someone during a flight!? Sitting next to someone can be bad enough, but FACING someone!?

You don't actually face one. There's a clever little panel that hides the other person's face. It's quite neat actually, and very comfortable.

Looking at that picture, it strikes me that the World Traveller Plus seats are very similar to the Club World seats, except of course they all face forward, and dont recline. Those Business Class seats look narrow. The brown backs don't do anything for them, either, and someone forgot to tell BA that there are an increasing number of people who are taller than 6ft (which is the length of the bed). Still, it is a very original idea, but it just doesnt seem to be all that well thought out. I might have to try it and see what its really like for myself.

VirginFlyer, the seats in the first pic are those from New Club World. World Traveller Plus seats are smaller, all face forwards and are in a smaller cabin.

777236ER - if you read my post beyond the first line, you will notice: except of course they all face forward, and dont recline

I probably should have made it clear when i said don't recline that I meant less room, but I thought that was obvious. Please read the entire post before posting a reply...

Looking at that pic...how in the world do you get out if you are in the middle two of the 2-4-2 config???

It strikes me that if Mr. Aisle is lying down, you're stuck, buddy.

The concept of forward and aft facing seats is quite revolutionary however the configuration shown in the picture seems very high density for a business class. If I had purchased a Club World ticket I would not be best pleased.

Jetstreamer:
Threr are 6 rows of seats in the picture. Each row is at least 6 feet from the row in front. How many other airlines give their business class pax a 6 foot bed?

How many other airlines give their business Class passengers 8 abreast in a 747 and 777. Its all relative.

I flew Club on my flight to Cape Town this Xmas-personally, I found that the seats were indeed a little too narrow for my liking-I'm barely 6', so the length was more than enough, but I found difficulty in sleeping, as my elbows constantly brushed the sides.

It may look cramped, but once you get settled down, and setup the partitions, you feel relatively 'private', and the cabin actually 'feels' quite spacious-if I may use that word.

A nice touch are the vintage B&W photos of old BOAC a/c in various airports-repeated inside the toilets.

What annoyed me was that I had to ask for an amenity kit, as these are not apparently handed out, like they used to be.....

Amenity kit not handed out, or waiting for you on your seat!?!?

I flew main cabin this past June and got the "basic" kit (dunno if they're different), it was waiting on my seat.

No, no amenity kit waiting on the seat. Not sure what you mean by 'basic', although cabin staff were handing out the 'Molton Brown' kit on request-this is the one to which I refer.

Perhaps it was a case of them having run out, or not having enough time during the pre-boarding preparation that goes on.

Either way, it shouldn't happen, especially not at over 3.000 quid per trip!

Small details though, overall they are a pretty damn good operation, from pax perspective.

When i had to ask for mine last time i was on american airlines buisness class the FA said they stoped puting them on seats before boarding because coach class passengers would steal them as they walked thru to board. Nowadays they are hidden or jsut passed out after boarding.

The seats look interesting, but I like wider seats (no, I'm not fat). But 8-across is a lot for a 777, considering economy has 9 across. Sorry, but I'll take the non-bed United Biz seat in the 777!

When I said "basic", I didn't know if there was a different kit for business and/first classes, as in more treats inside or better bag.

The seats do look slim, as in not wide and I imagine a 2x2x2 configuration would have been more of a "business class" layout? Even 2x3x2?

Wouldn't the people who are sitting facing the rear of the aircraft fall foward during takeoff?

They are incredibly comfortable - although very expensive !!

I am 6ft 1, and wear a size 44 jacket, and could sleep very well in one of those seats, although the seats are a tad narrow for any acrobatics in bed. When youre lying flat, the person on the inside has to hop over the footrest part of your flat bed, but then unless youre in SQ, CX, SR, QF, BA or UA first Class, thats the situation. So it works quite well.
