Been To Chisinau? Flown Tyrolean?

Thu Feb 07, 2002 3:45 pm

Anyone here from or been to Chisinau in Moldova? I may be headed there for volunteer work. Wanted to know what the infrastucture is like?

I may be flying in on Tyrolean through Vienna, any comments on this division of OS?

Hi,

I was in Chisinau in January 2001.
If you're going there in winter time....bring warm clothes!

Tommy, I'll actually be going in June of this year, for quite an extended stay. What were you doing there, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Airnondo

Having produced quite some loadsheets for Tyrolean in ZRH, regarding the staff and the cabin interior I only can tell you that you most probabely will like your flight. There is nothing to my best knowledge to make you feel uncomfortable about the airline itself and flying with them from A to B. Enjoy...

Airnondo,

Ok, then you should have a better time than I did...
June, I believe is a beautiful time there.

I was there for a week, doing a photo shoot for Air Moldova International.

I have flown with Tyrolean many, many times, my last flight with them being VIE-DUB on a Fokker 70. Great airline just like all Austrian airlines. (Lauda and Austrian) Vienna is one of my favorite airports in the world and is an excellent hub. Enjoy your trip.

You could also fly with Air Moldova International through Frankfurt (very nice aircraft).
Chisninau airport has recently been completely renovated.

Thanks for all the info. I'd be interested to hear any more info about Chisinau itself? How's the city's atmosphere, people, etc.... I've heard the country as a whole faces many challenges, but the people are great.
Anyone know about the seperatest issues in the east of the country?

Cheers,
Mario
