I really doubt that this aircraft can reach such a cruising altitude. Wink/being sarcastic

I bet the passengers were surprised that they were going into orbit, enroute to rendezvous with the Shuttle.

You still wouldn´t use FL 50 because that is too low for the use of Flight Level. You usually start around FL 180 (18,000 ft).

In Europe we have flight levels lower than FL180.

Still, nice to see the Fokker 70 getting some attention for a change!!

The only F70 operator here in the UK (bmi regional) is rumoured to be selling their aircraft to a dutch carrier - anyone know who it is? Could it be KLM excel?

The name on the last pic is Kröcher, not Zeitler, but it is TXL, my home airport and I'll be there tonight for the whole weekend, and therefore I love this Pic!!!

I think he meant FL5000, can't anyone else see?

jeez, Commenting on the steep climb of the aircraft, you are under the impression he is going on and on and on...

The Fokker 70's are going to KLM Cityhopper, at least that is the news I've heard, as KLM Cityhopper already operate a fleet of these aircraft.

I also heard they are getting more F50's? Can anyone confirm? If so, cool!

Regards

Dan

It is not unusual to see FL050 in Europe, for example in Paris, where transition altitude was FL040 last week!!

Climbing straight to FL 5000 * 100 = 500,000 ft = 166,666 metres = 166 km = 103 miles = 92 nautical miles.

Tickets for such a trip include an astronaut kit.
