How come N305DN spent so much time at DTW doing subs? I assume on Tuesday as it goes back to ATL it'll go back into the ATL rotations?

To be fair, given the regular user participation in this thread, this is probably the best place to ask DL-specific fleet questions, regardless if the question is necessarily about refurbishments. I've done it before and have gotten the answer I was looking for.

3751 is in ATL with no further scheduled flights, so it's likely getting mods.

3116 is on its way to SAL for mods. All 319s in service have the new cabin with AVOD. There are 17 that do not yet have 2Ku.

764s and 777s will go through the mid life mods starting in January of next year.
Notably for the 764, there is a reduction of 6J seats 7 C+ seats, and an addition of 20 Premium economy seats. There is a net reduction of 8 seats. From 246 to 238.

Wireless IFE for both.

That's nice to hear, the 764 cabins seem to be overdue for the mods.

What do you mean by "Wireless IFE both both?" Don't they already have wireless IFE in addition to the seatback systems?

So that will bring the number of remaining domestic 767s down to 3? Are the others planned for retirement after the summer schedule, or further down the road?

They are planned to be parked by year's end, along with three 767-300ERs, most likely three of the ex-Gulf Air 767-300ERs.

Very interesting is there any news on what the 777 or 767-400ER seatmaps will look like? I have been thinking for quite a while that the 777's needed a refresh. I try to avoid the 777 on DL if I can (even though I love the 777 on other carriers). DL 777 J seats make me dizzy due to the angle and not being able to see the windows.

The only ones scheduled are the 1400 series ships. Nowhere in the retirement plan mentions the older ERs

I would ask if either Atlas or ATI would want them, but I suspect that the PW engines make them undesirable to ATI and its sister companies.

N308DE/3608 coming back to ATL from AMA today, but going back into service tomorrow, so no mods for it yet.

Also looks like DL.com is starting to better reflect the modded CR7s and 9s. I was searching flights from my local airport and the new interiors (expanded C+) show up in seat maps even on flights that are 3-4 months out.

737-7: 3608 exited paint at AMA, now at ATL with no flights scheduled. That as well as 3609 and 3610 leave 3 to get mods.
737-8: 3751 is in mods, 1 left to get it which is 3764.
737-9: 3878 should be coming soon
757: 6 in mods, 667 should be exiting soon, 6819 should be as well. 5 left to get 75D mods. Also 633 not flying.
320: 3 left to get P1+2 mods (3247, 53, 56). 3242 has been at DTW for over a week.
321: 3020 should be delivered soon.

The 777s are all supposed to be reconfigured with fewer Delta One seats and more W seats. Y will remain 3-3-3, although with an 18.5" wide seat? I'd be surprised (some airlines operate 17" seats 3-3-3, such as Asiana with a 33" seat pitch).

I have a reservation for June, and I saw a change in the seating chart of a 737 800. I used to be in 13F and now the system put me in 19F. I'm seeing that now there are more Delta Comfort+ seats. Is this the 73A configuration? thanks for the clarification

DL has been in the process of adding 3 extra rows to Comfort+ in the 738's for a while now. I've been on quite a few birds which had 6 rows, despite the seat map only showing 3. This must have been a part of the 73H+ mod program, and now that it is complete they are selling all 6 rows of Comfort+. So, looks like you just missed out on a free (or at least early) upgrade to Comfort+ :cry:

It's interesting to note that the 738 now has ~70% more Comfort+ seats than the 739 (16F/36E+/108E vs 20F/21E+/139E). I wonder if they plan to add any additional Comfort+ rows to the 739? Furthermore, the 738 now has even more Comfort+ seats than DL's internationally configured 763's, and the same quantity as the 777!

On the 738, I'm going to guess the increase in Comfort+ seats likely has something to do available space between F and the exit rows. They could likely convert the spacing to Y+ and leave the row in front of the exit row in its normal position with regular pitch. They made the configuration change without removing any seats, so it makes sense to attempt to upsell on the additional seats.

Actually seven are in service...N327NW, N340NW, N352NW, N354NW, N355NW, N373NW and N378NW. Four more are currently in mods...N344NW, N353NW, N356NW and N358NW.

Everyone keeps saying that these P2 aircraft include AVOD, but yet no pictures of one have ever been posted, and DL.com doesn't show any of them to have AVOD in the amenities section.

I was on 3255 last night flying ATL-DCA and I can confirm it did not have AVOD. Nice though. I thought it was funny because the flight attendant had to instruct how to turn on the reading light as it was the button with a symbol "like the sunset" as a lot of people were hitting the Steward/ Stewardess button instead.

Well it's not like we're talking about 2Ku WiFi where an aircraft does/doesn't have it! Either you saw the AVOD or you didn't! It would have been rather obvious if it had it, and the flight was only a few weeks ago!

I am 100% positive that N355NW (P2) 3255 did not have AVOD. And if I really knew how to upload a photo from my iPhone to this I would as I took a picture and just double checked it.

I was pretty sure it didn't have AVOD but then I see it on a list on a.net that supposedly says that it may have AVOD and I'm questioning what I remember from a month ago. I didn't think anything of it at the time like oh this ship should maybe have AVOD. Hence why I'm questioning it. I didn't remember seeing AVOD on N373NW on April 5th. It was a short flight in the late evening to BWI but I usually would've noticed these things. So, I'm saying no it didn't have AVOD

So if P2 really doesn't include AVOD, is the only difference between P1 and P2 the removal of half a row of seats? Perhaps what we've been calling P2 is really just a P1.5 and the true P2 comes later.

Also n515cr, you should go back and check the dates on your list. There are multiple instances where the entry date is listed as 2016 when it was really 2017.

MD90 (I hope they reconsider. I worked a 4hr11min segment on one the other day)
MD88 (will not support AVOD and being phased out by 2020)
717 (short sectors. power port at every seat)

All have Wifi and access to Delta Studio.

I believe approx 100 aircraft have been fitted with the high speed 2KU wi-fi so far.

Yeah, the "P1.5" half-row thing does make sense, but unless there's 1) an equipment supply issue, 2) STC-related reason, or 3) issues found with the P2 birds that require resolution before continuing the rest of the fleet, I don't understand why there would be this seemingly-interim config.

Hopefully we can get this figured out.

P2 does include AVOD. I believe only three have avod right now. Also row 10 (first row of main cabin) had an interesting screen setup. Seats a,c,d,f use the seat back of the F seat for the screen. The middle seats, b and e, have in arm screens.

Just a quick update on the RJs:

Every single 2-Class RJ has been modified with the new Delta seat covers, in-seat power in FC and C+, as well as some other trim and finish updates. Final seat configurations are as follows:

CRJ-700 (excluding RJ6 plane N752SK): 9/16/44
E170: 9/20/40
CRJ-900: 12/20/44
E175: 12/20/44 (SkyWest planes are only ones to feature nose to tail in-seat power as well as ATG-4 wifi)

N679DA 679 (entered Apr 11, 2017; est. exit May 28, 2017) – IND

Not sure how it got there if it was updated in IND, but both FR24 and FA are showing that N679DA is operating MSP-ANC this evening. FR24 has a full schedule loaded for it tomorrow as well. Seat map on DL.com for the ANC-MSP return is showing the 75D configuration, as well as the next MSP-ATL leg that FR24 is showing as scheduled for tomorrow morning. So I guess that frame is now a 75D.

Slight correction...the OO RJ7's from the UA operation (ship #'s 700) have ATG-4 wifi as well. Maybe not all, but I've been on 5 of them and they all had it.

I was also told CZ was supposed to be getting the upgrades to wifi next.
