Yes. It will have the same cabin as Avianca Brasil - We need to wait for the other Airbuses later this year to see the new IR product.

So... they will have two different cabin on A330? That's a shame

Yeah, but we're speaking about two planes only out of the 30+ A330's, so it's still not that bad!

Boeing will fight Trump tooth and nail to keep the contract. But with Americans once again barred from Iran and Iranians barred from the US, it will complicate things.

And now, Iran has fired a missile, which is apparently in violation of a UN resolution (though not the EU/US/Iran deal); that won't help either. Trump is apparently due to meet Netanyahu shortly and you can be what will be at the top of their agenda.

Pulling out of the EU/Israel deal would really annoy Europe - leaving aside the consequences for Airbus, but I am not optimistic that Iran will get more than a small number of the aircraft they have on order. There will be very heavy lobbying by Europe and I can't help wondering if there will be consequences for Europe's relationship with Israel too. This is going to be a battle royal ...

Main dfference between IR and ME3 is not just alcohol, they are worlds apart in every way, those three airlines are glamourous, atleast the crew in EY and EK look fabulous and are dolled up with tons of make up, EY uniform is fashionable, their IFE caters to all tastes mainly western with minimum censorship and they have First class with meals like from Michelin starred restaurrants.

IR can get there in many ways, maybe not the dolled up crew, but to say they are like that now is really misleading.

As fot clothing even people can dress up as they like on Saudia as well, their crew uniforms are no different to the styles worn by Iranian carriers crews, and Saudia IFE is upto global standards not anything conservative or orthodox as some might be thinking.

Women dont have to cover their hair in public in big cities of Saudi Arabia, especially foreigners, but they still have to in Iran.

Is the 772B-> 772C just a software change, or are their hardware changes? Both share the -X43 designation, and remember this was originally a plane built in mid 2014 for Avianca Brazil (and technically delivered to them).

Wikipedia said the 772C-60 was first certified in March 2007. I don't know how accurate that is but I figure if that was the case there would be some 772C-60s delivered since then.

Spoke to an IR tech yesterday.....
2 x AB6's IBA &IBB now not flying due to needing parts which GE cannot supply.
Now left with only 4 aircraft to cover there European routes... AB6's IBC & IBD plus the 2x 313's IBK & IBL.... and I'm not entirely sure IBK is still flying either....
They are desperate for the 330's...
Also was told that the 321's will be doing European flying soon too...
Will help with the fleet problems...
Expect the 330's into LHR from March onwards .

The 'Iran Air' logo on the belly really looks bad. Far too big, and also a really ugly font to begin with.

Great pics. Hard to believe they finally got it. The interiors are like a different airline compared to what they have on the older fleet. A really decent product in Y and J.
From a purely Avgeek point of view it will be sad to see the old retro cabins and fleet go but obviously had to be replaced and a much better experience for passengers. The IR livery looks great on any aircraft.

Correct - the interior is from Avianca Brasil - however Iran Air will introduce their own product on the other airbuses. - all will have IFE as well.

The IFE will have western made movies considering the fact that they're not banned in Iran and regularly shown on Iranian television as well. You won't see movies like "American pie" or "Legally blonde". They'll mostly be either "action movies" or "dramas" both from Hollywood and Europe.

Iran itself has a large film industry as well - the biggest in western Asia actually, so you might expect lots of Iranian made films subtitled in different languages.

Those types of seats have long lead times. The Webber Cirrus seat as shown is not going to be available with only a couple months lead time since it is quite customized for each airline that uses it. It takes longer to configure the airplane than Iran Air had since their order was only firmed up in 2016. If the interior hadn't been designed for another airline, I would have expected a very basic business class and economy seat that can be bought more or less off the shelf and not top notch.

I think a lot of people was expecting a basic, simple configuration for both IR A321/A330 since it was a fast delivery. However Airbus has many A321 and A330 laying around returned by operators or not delivered at all. Much to we avgeeks' happiness, IR managed to pull a quick one with new delivery scheduled every other weeks once the delivery is in full swing.

IR/ Airbus might want to give Avianca a call though, seems like they are offloading quite a number of young A330 and not taking A320 family delivery as many as they used to.

I wonder if IR will pick up N508AV sitting at VCV for quite some time. She was slightly over a year old before being stored in Jan 2016.

My thought exactly. It seems almost disrespectful to have "IranAir" written on the belly, no? Yet, a stylized Homa (or even an inverted image of one) would allow for better brand recognition overall. I hope that it's not too soon to make a change for the rest of the fleet.

Or, even better - double Homas - one one each gear door - so that as she rolls along - we get to see it. In flight, it will look like a pair - wings in flight.

Some flight attendants at Avianca Brazil are reporting that the airline have 2 A330 already, but another info point to 2 Avianca Colombia A330's stored at VCV that will be back flying on April 18th.

At the same time, can be the last 2 ones which went to CHR?
