Check Aircraft Used On SW Flights

Tue Feb 12, 2002 12:28 pm

Is there a way to lookup the a/c type on WN flights?

On their website when booking a flight under stops it usually has the airport listed....when it just says (2) does that mean 2 stops? Because I checked that flight and it said depart BNA @ 2P and arrive SJC @ 7:20P. Flight #160. Iould think this means a N/S flight.

If there is an airport listed, it's a connection city.

"When it just says (2) does that mean 2 stops? "
The number is your total number of stops enroute on a direct flight, or total number of stops including any connections with direct flights.

As far as BNA to SJC, the routing is flight #160 leaving BNA at 1:50pm. This flight stops at PHX before going to SAN, where you connect to flight #571, a nonstop from SAN to SJC arriving at 7:30pm . The total stops enroute is 2. This is coded as SAN/2.

The timetable & website don't show the aircraft used, but a quick call to 1-800-I-fly-SWA will anwser that question.

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure you have a good chance of getting on a Boeing 737...

just kidding. I have never found where southwest puts down which aircraft it flies...

My girlfriend's uncle is a WN pilot, and he is trained on all three types- 732, 733/5, and 73G... so maybe they train all of their pilots that way so that they can use any plane at any time...

Just an idea.
