CO17 To Yul?

Wed Feb 13, 2002 3:11 am

Flightview.com is currently showing C017 flying at 31,000 feet en route from AMS to YUL but I can't find it either on AMS departures or YUL arrivals.Does anybody have an explanation?

Probably either a medical diversion or a fuel stop.

Sometimes flights just register a flight plan to a certain point due to fuel or wind considerations, and then re-adjust the plan once some of the outside factors are better understood. I have heard this from some of the pilots, but I cant remember the details. I know that EWR-HNL does this occasionally, and I know that some of the USA>EUROPE flights do their flight plan to SHN first...

can't remember all the details

This IS odd... 'cause I just checked CO's internal Flight info and CO17 doesn't operate GLAEWR today (Feb 12), only EWRMCO....
I also looked at the flight for yesterday as well; it arrived in EWR on time....

OK, here's the scoop; CO71 is now to make an unplanned fuel stop in YYR (Goose Bay) instead of YUL.
Current ETA puts it into EWR 2:05 late.

Most likely the headwinds proved stronger then expected. It happens.....
