Lion Air MD-80?

Wed Feb 13, 2002 9:38 am

Some Aviation magazines have reported that Lion Air of Indonesia has received one MD-80 in Dec.01 and will take delivery of 9 more this year. Is this true? Is there a picture available? Who has more?

I see them around CGK a few times a day... Nice planes, PTV equipped, watch movies for a 2hr flight.

Anyway, I heard another 3 will come this year, the rest coming next year in an undisclosed number.

ILS,

2 A313s, ex PK-AWA and ex PK-AWD (you can search from there)

Currently 1 MD82, PK-LME.
PK-LIA still operational. PK-LID possible write off.

The Yaks are due for replacement.
Hope this helps

I did take a few pics of some Lionair aircraft at Kuala Lumpur late last year. Will try to post them soon if I am able to work out how.
