Well I thought AirTran bought Valujet too, but I just looked and I found out I was wrong. Read this:
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - ValuJet Airlines, a discount carrier that couldn't shake the stigma of a deadly crash in the Florida Everglades, is dumping its name and smiling-plane logo. The company announced a $66.3 million stock deal Thursday to buy the much-smaller AirTran Airways and adopt the AirTran name.
"We could pick one name or the other and we felt that the AirTran name better represented the interests of the company," said ValuJet president and chief executive D. Joseph Corr.
And I've never really had problems when I've flown AirTran. But those DC-9's are LOUD!
