My question to him would be why does he not play hard ball with the governemnt and the unions?? He is running a business, why is it that it appears that the govn't and the unions are running his company....why is it that in the US the unions, and the government understand that the companies need to survive right now, and that means layoffs and cut backs...mean while in canada we have an airline loosing 1billion dollars, and they are not being aloud to lay people off, or at least not the people who should be layed off, and they are not being aloud to cut some services, but at the same time are being forced to reduce service on money making routes by the government....IT is as if he is just a puppet or a figure head like the queen...I would like to know when he is going to grow some balls...and what is he going to do to turn AC around...

Good question, Slawko, that is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. I know it's difficult to establish credibility on this forum, but this is an opportunity to relay some of your feelings directly to AC headquarters (not necessarily Milton himself, however) and ask about their motivation on many issues.

The future of Tango? LCC out West? The future of the 747 fleet?

FLYYUL, no questions about Dorval?
YOW, nothing about the Ottawa-Europe issue?

Contribute any ideas, as AC affects all us Canadian airline geeks!

HI,

I would like to ask to M. Milton (I have a lot of respect for this man) why he don't spinoff AC Regional faster (I know he is looking for the right market...but that was 1 year ago!...missed the boat) and he don't introduced competition on the regional market as Delta, NW, UA....let play competiton between regional commuter and he will get lower cost on these segment.

Also, when he intends to buy new regional aircrafts?

Does he plans to buy CRJ 700, FRJ ..., (of course not Embrear, for evident political reason)?

just my 2 cents,

Hypothetical questions, Dash8King. He's not doing a public Q&A for our benefit anytime soon.

Why he wants to direct this airline towards a low cost type operation( ie Tango or Westjet). AC is a full service carrier, develop our own product and let WJ take care of the bargain travel. Competition is good, nor are we a US airline so stop trying to turn us into one.

Actually the expansion of Tango is a good business move. AC loses money domestically. They need to lower costs, regardless of the competition.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

With the overheads that they have that is impossible... unless Milton can find a loophole in the union to get that $45,000-a-year-65-year-old-F/A-hag fired...

Gate agent avg for AC 23 bucks an hour... Westjet is about 11 bucks you cannot compete with that!

Hey Milton, stop trying to brush heels with airlines you CAN'T compete with. Air Canada is a national full- service international carrier with a great reputation (except in Western Canada)... your chances of survival beyond 2005 depend on keeping with this.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
