Cheesecake, United, And Nate

Mon Feb 18, 2002 12:03 am

I have just returned from a nice journey on UA and will file a trip report when I get around to it. Suffice it to say that riding in seat--I mean 'suite'-- 2J of their 747-400 is awesome and everyone should try it. Everyone I encountered at UA was going out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and I hope it is a sign of smoother waters for them. On the basis of this trip I wouldn't hesitate to fly them again.

A few weeks ago when I made my reservation, many of you waxed enthusiastic about the cheesecake that UA serves. After sampling it, all I can say is now I understand. Smooth and creamy.

Finally, Nate (Segmentking) asked me to say hello to UA employee Rhonda at FLL. As if to humour him I kept this in mind, not expecting to enounter her, and wouldn't you know, she checked in my bags.(Wavy blond hair and a 'ee' in the middle of her last name). Nate, if you are reading this, I DID pass along the greetings but the name didn't click right away. She said 'now I'm intrigued'. Next time you see her you'll have to explain the mystery. Tell her that I appreciated her recommendation to go to Jake's coffee in the main terminal instead of the Miami sub shop past security! (Now there's a hot tip for anyone who needs a good cup of java while at FLL.)

The apple crunch cheesecake is out of this world. I've had it on countless domestic 777 runs.
It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.
