Does anyone know what happened to Allegiant flight 9887 yesterday (6/27) ? It was scheduled to leave YNG at 1800 for PIE, left at 1821 and climbed to about 13,000' and circled back to the airport and landed back at YNG, and I never saw it listed as departed again. Flight was an MD-80 and I'm not sure if its still on the ground at YNG.
I was looking for information on the LAS-PSC flight that had the APU fall out of it while inflight yesterday. Evidently, there are photos floating around somewhere when it was discovered to be a large hole in the tail section upon arrival in Pasco.
Yes, it returned back to YNG due to a maintenance issue.
I did not hear about the PSC flight that lost an APU. That will be an interesting read if they release the info on that!
EDIT: it wasn't the APU that fell, it was one of the APU non Ram air doors that fell of. Still a big issue, but much less drastic then the APU falling off.
