S2 To Acquire CRJ's

Wed Feb 20, 2002 12:58 pm

Just got news from one of my sources that the private domestic carrier, Air Sahara (formerly Sahara Airlines) is to introduce Regional Jets into its network beginning April-2002.

Air Sahara is owned by a business group which has diverse interests ranging from the Media to Aviation.

The plan is to induct as many as 15 Canadian CRJ500 and CRJ700 series regional jets. This would take their fleet to around 25 aircraft, including 10 737 series aircraft (-400's, -700's and -800's).

More details are awaited.
