Unidentified 747 @ DOH Please Help

Thu Feb 21, 2002 1:22 am

Today I was going to a shop near DOH (Doha International Airport, Doha, Qatar) When suddenly i heard a roar and then saw a beautiful retro looking 747 Classic taking off. I don't know if it is a 747-100 or 747-200. The typefont was very retro looking and there were big block letters that read XXX International. I couldn't read the first word thats why i put XXX. It had black and green markings if my memory serves.

Can anyone help me identify it please.

Also if anyone nows which airline/government operates this 747 does anyone know the reason it is in DOH. Does it have anything to do with the extra US forces being deployed in Qatar?

Any help will be appreciated and i would thnk in advance all who reply.

Regards
Qatar

I searched the database and found out it was an Evergreen International B747-200B(SF)

Still half of my question is unanswered.

-What was it doing in DOH. I haven't seen Evergreen here in DOH before?

-Is DOH in the Evergreen schedule or is it a charter?

-Is this the Evergreen aircraft that is going/has gone to Kabul for the aid mission

I heard somewhere that a private aid agency is chartering an Evergreen International to Kabul in February 2002.

Yup...In fact go to http://www.evergreenairlines.com/ They are a charter company that is based out of Mcminnville Oregon. They maily fly 747's but do have a DC-9 up here in ANC that is available for charter.

They also own the museum that houses the Spruce Goose and the own the aircraft storage facility at Marana Arizona.

OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

I'm just wondering if it was an AFX International B.742?

They have 3 747's, all painted (i think) with a green cheat line or 2 and fly all over the place!!
