Delta Codesharing With American Eagle At LAX

Thu Feb 21, 2002 2:23 am

I was surprised to read that Delta has started a codeshare with American Eagle routes from LAX to various California cities (source: AIN Online).

How common is it for majors to codeshare on each others' regional routes? I know that Midwest Express, for instance, partners with American Eagle at LAX, DFW, and BOS, but I haven't ever heard of a major contracting with another major's wholly-owned carrier.

How common is this?

Actually these Eagle flights ex-LAX already codeshare with AS, NW, YX so adding DL isn't too much of a stretch.

Also add CO and HA to that list of codeshares on Eagle's LAX flights along with some internationals.

UAX at LA does not codeshare with anyone but UA's international partners. That forces anyone looking for west coast feed to talk with Eagle.
