Suspicious Package Closed MSY Concourses

Thu Feb 21, 2002 1:29 pm

A suspicious package scare at MSY has just been resolved. About 6 and a half hours ago, a box with newspaper wrapping on it was found in a bathroom on concourse B.

The appropriate parties (FAA, FBI, local police, etc) were notified, and following that, concourses A and B were evacuated. Southwest was the most affected with 20-odd cancellations or delays.

It was just determined that the package contained two cans of gumbo.

You can tell I spend too much time at work and at school. I don't even know what's going on in my own city!
