AA9800 Now Enroute DFW-EYW

Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:27 pm

Noticed that AA has an E170 flying DFW-EYW. Coded as AA9800 operated by Envoy. Anyone know what the nature of this flight is?

I think it should be pretty obvious. There was a little rain storm that went through there recently....

Most relief flights have not been operated by a commercial airline, but rather GA Aircraft, so I was surprised to see it. Is that what it is? EYW is still closed to all but emergency operations, and it seems MTH has been taking more of the relief flights as opposed to EYW.

Delta and JetBlue are operating relief flights to the Caribbean.

If it is a relief flight, which I am sure it is, I bet AA has been in contact with the authorities on the feasibility of bringing an RJ in with supplies and equipment. If the airport can handle it, I doubt the local government would turn away the help and supplies.
Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand, just find a place to make your stand and take it easy

Good on AA! Glad to see they're doing that.
