The Rescue of Flight 771 is my favourite aircraft movie. And a true story too. Can't find it in North America on either DVD or VHS so I'll have to continue watching my time-shift copy. Aircraft in the movie was some kind of Ag Truck crop sprayer.
I'd rather have Air Force One than Pushing Tin. I was very dissatisfied when I saw that movie come on HBO....I had waited 6 weeks for that. Realism was only about 20% in my oopinion, as far as how they portrayed the Air Traffic Control system to work.
For a change of pace, how about "The Great Waldo Pepper". It's all WWI aircraft, but it was all shot in flight, not in a studio. Great script, and lots of fun to watch. Good performances by Redford, Sarandon etc.
One smooth landing is skill. Two in a row is luck. Three in a row and someone is lying.
Speaking of John Nance, did any of you see Pandora's Clock? It was a made for TV movie on NBC a few years back. I just read the book (a really good book ) and I want to get the movie, but I can't find it anywhere...Any suggestions?
