I love LH's livery! It's so classy and versatile.
I hope they retain some of its heritage.

Singapore Airlines' livery is one of the oldest and recognisable in the industry, having gone virtually unmodified since it's introduction.
It is timeless and elegant.
Clearly I'm on the "If it ain't broken..." camp

If this is indeed true, when will they finish the paintjob? Will take quite some time on a 748 I assume?

The presentation is probably in CW6.

It is said that LH is not only redesigning its livery, but also the whole brand is planned to be unified in every area, where Lufthansa uses its own name (means EW, LX or OS are not included).
Airports 2018: ADB, ALG, CAI, DAC, DEL, DUS, FRA, GRU, HAM, HAU, HND, IST, KTM, LYS, MUC, NUE, OSL, PKR, QSF
Planned: no new airports
Cancelled: Lukla :/

I have to say that I love some of the artistic concepts some of the a neters come up with on here. Some of these LH concepts are pretty cool looking! IMO, some of them look better than what the airline actually ends up with after using a high-end design firm. I remember some of the cool ideas some of you came up with for the AA livery.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know how many A350s are going to be delivered to Lufthansa this year? If so what date is the next plane to arrive?

But seriously I am so stoked to see the new livery! Hurry up Feb 5th!

The wavy line on the UA B787 makes it the worst looking aircraft type in their entire fleet. I really hate it. A straight line looks so much sharper.

Cheatlines look Soviet. Maybe mao-chic. It looks incredibly outdated and I am having trouble believing anyone complaining about KLM or UA's liveries (specifically on the 787 for UA) is under the age of 55.

You, I like how you think.

I'm not a nostalgic person, so I have no fondness for cheatlines or eurowhite. Of course, I hope they don't screw it, as the livery could be much much worse. Some more blue on the tail like Qanta should do fine.

Would it be a new design, or just a refresh of the current livery?

nothing there really indicates a livery change (and by the way: please no more wavy liveries!). The discussion is about the IL check of an A380 in DRS. Other posters are asking if the plane can be painted in DRS, and the answer is no. Then somebody asks when a painting hangar can be expected in DRS, and somebody says "next year".

So, the timeframe "next year" refers to the new hangar, not a new livery! (At least in the discussion in the link)

If you follow the discussion to the next post of CGNnrw, it's clear he is pointing towards the livery: "meinte ja mit nächstem Jahr nicht den Bau einer neuen Lackierhalle sondern die Einführung der upgedateten Livery der LH. " - "I didn't mean next year regarding the new painting hangar but regarding the introduction of the updated LH livery."

I have read in several places (german and italian aviation forums among others) that it is going to be an update of the current livery, sort of an evolution. I heard of the Kranich being in silver instead of yellow, the yellow disappearing completely from the corporate identity with the exception of the cabin crew uniforms. The logo will remain fully visible on the tail and not cut out like some concepts show. The engines will not be white. But whether this means they will stay grey or be painted in a different colour, is not know.
However LH put up that website mentioned a couple of posts earlier and it makes one think that it´s going to be more than just an updated logo but rather a completely new identity.
Whatever it will be I am sure it will be disliked by many, loved by many and many others will first dislike it and then will start loving it :-)

Lufthansa's current livery is brilliant and timeless. It looked good in the 1980s, it looks good today and it would look good in the future.

However, I do like this one:
Image
ATL, AYT, FRA, FUE, HEL, JFK, LCA, LHR, MUC | AY, BA, DL, FH, LH, LO | A320, A321, A333, 752, 764, 772, 788
The word "Quawer" means nothing but it looks great.

Larger billboard titles, the crane enlarged and removed from the circle, and less yellow overall... and a press release filled with some BS about millennials and high-end travelers’ homes would be my guess.

Because they introduced it in 2017, and supposingly they want the new c/s in 2018, for the "100th anniversary"

They currently have six A350 with old c/s, which will stay with them for quite a while
and nine on order:
#7 D-AIXG is due this month and obviously has old c/s.
#8 D-AIXH is on the flightline and due next month, so should be painted already -> old c/s
As per #9 (in final assembly now) they shall get the new c/s.
Feel free to correct me on this!

According to a german forum a LH Cargo Cpt said the color silver gets important and the new C Cabin (rendering) tells a lot about the new design as well.

If there were a change of Lufthansa's corporate look, I would be looking to see them change the colour scheme at some of their lounges. When I was in Detroit Metro a couple of years back, I saw the outside of the lounge area of Lufthansa. I hate to say but the use of the colour yellow is a bit overwhelming. I get it, it is a signature colour for the airline, but at the lounge area it just seemed too much.

Airliners.net doesn’t like change of livery we should know by now.

The current LH livery is a boring as it gets. Even China Eastern looks more inspired. Eurowhite is so boring and harsh - a warmer white and less harsh font would work wonders to softening the company image.

The CX livery and corporate refresh is actually working very well, and has brought CX and KA together. Livery wise, side by side against the old CX and KA livery you can see the massive improvement.

I prefer the Rich red of Cathay Dragon livery.

All the aircraft look very attractive with this livery, even the a320s which usually aren’t considered such. Something about that grey underside. The yellow is much like Austrian’s blue they got rid of; doesn’t make sense but it’s a good addition.

Disagree, although I have only seen it on the 747Fs and A350. On those it looks very good.

Back on LH, I think they keep the yellow. Putting it on their website linked above is the only rationale though.

Well the following image is straight from Lufthansa's promotional video. It appears right after they say "good things are here to stay" and "the crane turns 100". Here it is. It wouldn't surprise me, if this is the new color scheme they are going with as others have mentioned.

Personally, I love the color yellow, and hope it gets incorporated into the livery somehow.

I don't have a horse in this race ... yet.

But come March 25, when that big beautiful A343 -- flight LH466 -- first flies low over Balboa Park on final to Lindbergh Field's runway 27, well, to be honest, I won't care how she's dressed. How fantastic to see LH finally serving SDIA in San Diego!

I personally love the current livery, always have, and I'm sure however management tweaks it, it will remain a favorite. Yellow and blue - timeless (I hope!)

Almost less than 2 months to go...

I’ll be very disappointed if this is the new livery, where is the yellow?

If true another Euro White livery.......... Of Course. How a blogger on a Brazilian aviation site knows this, I have no idea.

Did Lufthansa (yes, it has the gray lower band) or Air France start the whole Euro White fuselage trend?

As boring as that render is, it seems plausible, considering that the main points do show the yellow going away in favor of gray. Why? I have no idea. LH's livery is fine as is, IMO.
