Tribute To TWA

Sun Feb 24, 2002 9:41 am

Before some of you say this belongs in the Aviation Hobby section I've already beaten you to it, it's already there. So I'm already to get beat up for posting these virtural pics. I felt it is fitting to submit these virtural pics to the Civil Aviation group as-well. Even though I flew TWA many times I never really got any great photo's fitting to post on this website and TWA didn't fly into my local airport (Long Island, Islip). So I decided to create my own "Virtural" photos using Microsoft Flight sim 2002.

Below are some screen shots that I took of some TWA aircraft. The screen shots are a virtual tribute to this great airline and it's employee's who made TWA the greatest airline to grace the sky's. TWA was always my airline of choice and will remain very close to my heart.

TWA was one of the greatest airlines to ever grace our sky's. For 75 years they set the benchmark for all other airlines. Yes for many years they were last in everything but with strong leadership and loyal employee's they started to make a comeback and were number one in customer service and on-time performance. Even in the end TWA went out on a high note. The last month they were coded as TWA they were the number one airline for on-time performance. Even though TWA will fade from the sky's in the future we can be proud of the fact they are part of another great airline, American. The TWA employee's that made TWA number one will surely help make American number one. To my firends at TWA you will never be forgotten.

TWA 767-300 climbing out.

TWA 75 Years of Aviation, 717-200 over NYC.

The Queen of the Sky's 747-200 Over NYC.

TWA 767-300 Over TWA's home town of St. Louis. If I had dime for the amount of time I've connected at STL.

TWA 747-200 Over St. Louis. If they only had more money, where would they be today???? Sorry couldn't blow this one up.

Thank you

Great pictures.
Too bad they are slowly going from the sky. I think that they had the best paint scheme in the skys today.
