Unknown 737 At STR - Need Help

Mon Feb 25, 2002 3:50 am

This question goes out to all STR spotters - and anybody else who knows the answer, of course  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Today on my way home from work, I saw an unknown 737 parked at the US military base in the south part of Stuttgart airport. It was already getting dark, and I didn't have a car with me to have a closer look, nor did I have binoculars with me, so I'm not even sure if it was a 737Classic or a 737NG (but it didn't have winglets). It was basically white, with a cheatline. As it was parked at the USAF base, I'm sure it was not a civil aircraft, but rather a US Air Force / Navy / Army aircraft. My suggestion would be a Navy 737-700:

But I'm not common with military used aircraft, so I might be wrong.

If CC32, B737-700, GeneralA or any other local STR spotters could even provide me with the registration, wow THAT would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately there was no opened cargo door, so I can't tell you if the aircraft had a cargo door. Thanks for posting that photo IbizaJetA330, it's exactly the angle how I saw the 737 today, looking at the cheatline I'm 80% sure it was this aircraft. But only 80%, because as I mentioned, I was pretty far away. Is there anybody who has been spotting at STR this weekend who could confirm?!?

Hi Lüll,

this is a C-40A from the US. Navy (737-700)
they are now replacing their C-9A (DC-9)
with them. You will see them now often in STR.
As I know, they should have already 3 of them !
PS.: Thanks a lot the pic is ok !!!
Bis dann...

Marco

@Crewchief: C32A is a 757 !!!
 Big thumbs up
