Great "sky-spotting" Today At STR

Wed Feb 27, 2002 1:42 am

I was sitting at my desk today and in approximately 40 minutes I actually saw 4 747s passing by high above.

First one was a Thai 747-400 heading nw, the an unknown 747 towards the south-east, an Alitalia 747-200 north-west heading and finally another Thai 747-400 nw.
Was some nice fun. Where were those THais and the Alitalia going to ? Thai maybe FRA / AMS ?

Donder10 is right, most of the traffic flying high over STR is probably flying to BRU and LHR/LGW/etc. and similar directions. On a sunny afternoon, you can see *many* BA 747/757/777, Airtours, Britannia, Monarch etc. and we used to see many Sabena aircraft as well.
However, I didn't have time to do "sky-spotting" today  Sad was it sunny at all  Confused

I'd say it was partly sunny at times.
I was just amazed about it because I happened to see so many 747s in such a short period of time while I was studying.
And that were only the planes that flew by just in front and above my window.

I love watching flyovers, happens alot here and sometimes LHR departures can be as low as 14-18000ft, even Concorde was once, you could see the text by the nose and the union jack tail!!!

The Stuttgart Airport Authority has added two more webcams to their homepage the other day. Both give you a decent view over the apron and the 07 threshold. There is a live stream available as well, but it doesn´t work right know.

Well done, FAG !!!
