Will There Be Winglets For The B 747-400XQLR?

Wed Feb 27, 2002 1:50 am

I heard that the proposed B 747-400XQLR will be equipped with B 764 style Wingtips. Can anyone confirm this?

So, will the B 747-400XQLR be equipped with WINGLETs?

According to the Boeing website, the 747-400XQLR will have the 767-400 style raked wingtips, not the winglets like the current 747-400 has now.

One smooth landing is skill. Two in a row is luck. Three in a row and someone is lying.

So, no winglets?

Will they continue to produce the B 747-400, as well as the B 747-400ER?

What about the B 747 400 ER LR XLR XER XQLR(SUD) (M)?

Will that have winglets too?

With all these new versions of the 747, 767, 777, 737 and etc wouldn't is be wise to have similar wing desings to keep costs to a minimum?

Has the technology and designs evolved since the introduction of the winglets to a more efficient wing?
