Regarding Kuwait Airways are there any updates on the proposed service to Manchester that was rumoured to start last year but obviously didn't occur?

Looks like Etihad will reducing their B777 pax fleet in 2018.

5XA330F

5x B777LR average age between 10-11 years old. Ex Air India.

5x B777ER the oldest B777 in the fleet (12 years old) to be replaced with 6x B789 and the 1st B781 arriving from April at rate of approx one a 1 month.

1st A350-900 set to arrive in Oct.

Very surprised to see they are still operating a 25 years old A320, given it has been painted in the new livery it seems like it’s here to stay for a little longer.

6X B789? They already have 19 out of 23 B789's.

Any idea when EY will take the deliveries of the A320/21 Neo?

Indeed. flydubai is great at developing a market until it matures enough in order to handle Emirates.

23? Etihad has a total of 41x 787-9 on order and if you combine the 30x 781 it makes etihad the largest airline customer for 787.

The first A321 neo is due is Q4 2019.

Etihad will take 3 789 and 4 787-10 this year as stated in the 787 production thread

EY will not be the largest customer for the 787, ANA is

Is there any chance they start more European flights from Egypt? Egypt is very underserved by low-cost carriers to Europe.

Some news on Kuwait:

* Airport handled 13.7 million pax in 2017 with Qatar issues helping with the growth as passengers to Saudi, Egypt, Bahrain and UAE having to transit via Kuwait

* January numbers out at 1.34 million up 24%. In my opinion Kuwait airport will hit 15 to 16 million this year.

* Kuwait Airways announced Trabzon and Tiblisi as new routes

* Wataniya will start Istanbul Sabeha.

* New terminals for both KU and Jazeera will come on line 2 quarter which should help main terminal a lot. I noticed that Jazeera building is connected to the main airport.

* wataniya has placed an order for 25 planes. This will strain the old airport. Let’s see how this goes.

* there is a rumor that United will be coming back to kuwait not sure if this is true or not

Are they still trying to build a hub or are they concentrating on O&D passengers? I don't think the region needs yet another hub.

Lots of EK and EY planes planes over western Iraq going instead of eastern Iran right now (yet not totally avoiding Iran). Any reason? Has there bern any sudden dramatic downfall in the already strained relations or is overflying Iraq just considered to be much safer now (as it's obviously the shorter way to Europe).

Flights were diverted over Iran after the Malaysian airliner was hit over Ukraine. There was a fear that planes would be shot down by ISIS. Now that ISIS was pushed out of Iraq planes are resuming their old flight planes over Iraq.

Best joke in a long time.

One can't have five star if we can't all be treated equally in each class, and we can't drink wine on board.
Keeping the airlines in business since 1966...119 airlines, 175 airports and counting.
