Swiss' Might Not Be Called Swiss' After All

Sun Mar 03, 2002 1:06 am

Hello

The old airline Swissair is going to sue the new Swiss Air Lines over name rights. So if they get their Swiss might be rebranded again. According to the swiss newspaper NZZ, Swissair has a very good chance of winning so i guess, they might have to rebrand it again. Hopefully they just stick with the Crossair brand.

I've read that in a paper today as well.
Now if they had to rebrand it again, it would cost them qutie some money right ? MNoney they probably don't have right now.
Wouldn't be a good start in my opinion.

What's Swissair's management's problem? They blew it. Why don't they give up the name (which isn't the same!) with a bit of dignity? I'm unimpressed.

Why not Crossair Switzerland? or AeroSwiss? or CrosSwiss? (ok, that one's not so hot).

Why not 'Crossair Swiss Air Lines' like 'Lufthansa German Airlines' ???

Does it matter? How likely is it that `Swiss' will actually survive no matter what name you tack on?

Hello

Crossair Switzerland? Never thought about this one, sounds pretty cool!

The old Swissair management now really pisses me on: they destroyed Swissair, then Crossair, now they try to destroy Swiss.

I have no words.

With all this fighting, it's strange to see the new "SWISS" name on an old Swissair plane...I hope it doesn't last long (this hybrid scheme that is)

I can describe the old SR management with two words: sore LOSERS!! They're going out of business by April so what does it matter to them what the new carrier is called? Besides the new "SWISS" logo bears no resemblance to the old Swissair brand. If you ask me, it's red and white logo looks more like SBB's.

Boys, first get your facts, then start bashing. The old Swissair management, or better, the administrator, simpy HAVE to take legal actions to protect the rights of their creditors. Don't forget, that many people and companies still want money from the SAirGroup, and they would not like to see several 100's Mio Swiss Francs get lost.

It was known from the very first day, that the brand "Swissair" would cost the new airline, if they would take it. Now the went on with "Swiss". It will be up to the judge to decide about this question.
