Pax Complains About BR362 Incident:unfair Service

Sun Mar 03, 2002 7:29 am

EVA Air BR362 (Auckland -> Taipei) had an engine problems with its B767 on Feb 28. The plane diverted to Brisbane. 152 passengers were sent back to Taipei via Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Some passengers has told the media about EVA Air's way of handeling the passengers. They quote "EVA Air was being 'nice' to foreigners, not taiwanese." They demanded that EVA should return their money for the ticket AND sending another 767 to Brisbane to pick them up.

EVA Air official said that the passenger who called the media and complanining were telling "non sense". The passenger saw the plane caught fire and diverted to Brisbane.

EVA Air explained that they treat all the passengers fairly, no matter what's there nationality. They also explained that it's impossible to send another 767 to Australia to pick them back to Taipei.

All national carriers face the same allegation. Even some Singaporean says that SQ F/A give preferential treatment to foreigners ditto for TG, BR, etc.

It's not just some Singaporeans that say that. Most of my friends say that SQ gives preferential treatment to foreigners, which sometimes peeves me. Some of us pay like way more to sit on an SQ plane and yet they treat the foreigners better. I say this because I myself have personally experienced it but I kept quiet about it. It is there but it seems to be better now.
