ARN Vs. CPH (number Of Pax.)

Mon Mar 04, 2002 2:12 am

Just wanted to give you some totally needless facts.

The "fight" between the two biggiest airports in Scandinavia is now closer then ever.
18,284,001 passengers travelled to/from/through ARN in 2001. The same number for CPH was 18,136,274.
If you don't count the transit passengers (passengers who remains in the aircraft during the stop) ARN had 18,096,517 pax, while CPH had 18,034,697.

This is the third year in a row that ARN had more passengers than CPH, but since it's so close now I think CPH will pass ARN this year.

Seems like the 2 airports are running a pretty close race.

The numbers for Oslo, Norway - OSL is: 14.million pax

This is actually weird news really, as I see CPH having much higher growth potential due to its more central location. ARN is out of the way for many. What were the figures for the following airports back about 5 or 10 years ago:

OSL
ARN
CPH

that would be an interesting analysis.

the only reason for ARN to have those figures is beacuse of heavy domestic flying (sweden is bigger than denmark).

in terms of int. dep CPH should be ahead.
