EAL 3rd 747

Tue Mar 05, 2002 12:54 am

Europeans third 747-236B has just been painted in pink. Can somebody tell me its registration?
Btw: Who´s seen the EAL Jumbo(s) at Melbourne this weekend? I bet at least one was there to fly the Minardi crew to the Australian GP.

If that's true, it's registration is G-BDXG.

If you're interested, a good way of checking deliveries to UK airlines is the CAA's G-INFO database of all UK-registered aircraft which is updated daily.

Here's a quick shortctut to the database search page which allows you to search by registration, serial, type and operator.
http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/aircraft_register/ginfo/search.asp

Search results include exact aircraft type, engine data, MTOW, operators address and airframe hours at last CofA.

Thanks Crosswind, for this interesting source.
Yeah, must be G-BDXG (You can find a picture on www.justplanes.com).
Interesting that the two oldest BA-742s have been sold to a Bermuda Company called Snapdrogon, and G-BDXM, a 742 built in the 80s, to a different company on the Bermudas - with the address in the same building (letterbox, I mean).

I'll be visiting Bournemouth next week - any chances to see this 747 there?

Was in Sydney last week and there was major covergae of the EAL jumbo landing at ADL or MEL? Sorry did not pay major interest to story as busy watching it land. It was the black and blue painted jumbo and the landing was brilliant. Great to see another one painted and even better to know that those old BA classics have a future. Look forward to many more.......
