Was there a Concorde flight BA191?

Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:42 am

During Concorde's active years in service, was there a concorde flight with British Airways by the call-sign of Speedbird Concorde 191?

Scheduled, no. Closest was BA189, initially LHR-IAD, then LHR-IAD-DFW and ultimately LHR-IAD-MIA.

I realise this was a facetious reply, and if it weren't so late at night I may have chuckled. However, I have also seen plenty of posts that have been written in this kind of "Fail-glish" (as opposed to English) with the poster being none the wiser.

please, Please, PLEASE, could we stick on topic where humanly possible? Another post like this one and I may actually have that stroke which has been threatening :)

OK, the reason I asked this question is because the flight, Speedbird Concorde 191 was mentioned in a book called "Upon A Trailing Edge: Risk, the Heart and the Air Pilot" by Michael Joy. But it was a preview and some pages were ommited so I didn't know where this flight went to.

I don't think so... just found this online that seems to have all the Concorde flight numbers for BA and AF.

Don't take this as gospel, as it's just something I found on FT..

Here are your numbers for 1978/79

Just those ex-LHR:

BA 191 - IAD - DTW

No idea what the equipment type was

It would breeze through a spell check, as all the words I used exist - which isn't to say that it is correct, of course.

Now, you spell check this: Sarcasm

I can construct a sentence using existing words, but it doesn't make if correct if you can't spell.

Well my apologies for ruining your life by doing a search myself and finding the same thing. I didn't have time to click on your link since it didn't point out that it had all the Concorde flight numbers. Maybe you should perhaps be more descriptive next time rather than wasting your time being sarcastic to me when I was trying to be helpful.

They don't need to have perfect grammar, we can all understand what they're trying to say.

Probably not on the Concorde, though, which was the OP's query.

I can't help myself but I feel compelled to make a comment regarding your grammar.

Was it really aimed as sarcasm?

The last few words in your last sentence should have read 'the old variant could ever of been' rather than your take on it where you wrote 'the old variant ever could have bean'!

I'm not being sarcastic I'm being pedantic.

Touché. Although if you are THAT pedantic, then you could have taken care to quote me correctly... ;)
