AUA, MAS Back To BEY

Thu Mar 07, 2002 3:31 pm

It's reported that Austrian and MAS will be back in Beirut by the start of the 2002 summer season. LTU and Maersk are also interested in starting flights this summer...

Good news for BEY...

It's a great, underserved city. I didn't know MAS suspended services, there are loads of Lebanese (I mean LOADS) in Australia and Malaysia were carrying all of the VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) traffic. Not necessarily high yield I know.

Good to know the bad bad stuff that's happening to the south isn't putting airlines (and presumably pax) off Lebanon.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz
