Thu Jun 14, 2018 2:36 pm

Looks like it's being retired to Sebring.FL. The end of an era :(

Sad to see these go. It was always great to see them at MIA for so long and hear them fly over my apartment or office.

These are pretty much the last common 727s to see, at least for MIA. One of the best airplanes out there.

IFL group still uses theirs, but the schedule is fairly irregular. Although it does hit LRD and PTK at least once a week usually. It's also a frequent visitor to YHM.

Are the Cargojet 727's up in Canada still regularly flying?

They really need a couple of 757 for the cockpit commonality.

These birds are so rare these days. I did see one a few months ago, and felt the goosebumps build. Dang.... I mean, we knew it would happen. It just sucks that it has to happen.

CargoJet still has 3 active 727's (one flies the Bermuda-run and the other two are mostly used as stand-by aircraft)

Kalitta Charters II flies a few, still . Occasionally they sub one into ROC for the 737-400 on the DHL run.

What is Amerijet doing with the aircraft once they arrive in Sebring? Are they being scrapped there?

Say it isn't so! There are so few of these birds still out there, to ground one is a big deal.

Nothing like the old 3-holer's spooling them up. Cover your ears.

I think he's saying that Air Horse One is a 727 that is still flying.

See Air Horse One every year for polo season. Have spoken with the pilots and seen inside. Quite a ride with hay all over the floor.

Zero G is operated by (believe or not) Everts Air Cargo.

I have made several skydives out of one that Amerijet furnished us at the World Freefall Convetion in Quincy, Illinois many years back.

C-GCJZ - Boeing B-727-223A/F - ex CargoJet Airways - left YHM 15.06.2018 on delivery flight to YIP in basic CargoJet col. without titles and logo
c/n 22.469 - built in 1981 for American Airlines - converted to freighter 12/2000 and operated by Capital Cargo Airlines - operated by CargoJet since 07/2012
still some life left in the old workhorse - to one of the YIP based 727-operators?

Excellent to see. I’m guessing that was one of CargoJet’s retired 727s roaring back to life and still leaving them with 3 active 727s?
