From South Africa Press Association:

March 07 2002 at 01:22PM
Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has won the bid to supply South African Airways with its long haul fleet, the company announced on Thursday.
At the SAA press conference Public Enterprises Minister Jeff Radebe said he was satisfied that the adjudication process was fair and transparent.
"The airline industry is extremely fortunate to be served by two giants... both with superb standards.
"We had to decide which of the aircraft fit our conditions and requirements best."
In September last year SAA invited aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing to compete in the bid for the airline fleet. - Sapa
