Ansett Vs. Other Airlines Demises

Fri Mar 08, 2002 12:51 pm

I hate to kill this Ansett topic to death but I had this nadging question. Why was the end of Ansett Australia so hard to take compared to other greats going doing? I wasn't old enough to remember PanAm going down but I didn't feel as sad when TWA, Canadian, and Swissair went out of business compared to Ansett.

Any ideas, or you don't even think that Ansett passing was hard to take.

I think that we are becoming jaded to venerable names failing and falling by the wayside. Eastern, National, Pan Am, Braniff, Swissair, Sabena, Ansett, TWA, PSA, Piedmont, Western and the list goes on and on. More names will be added, that's for sure.
DAMN! This SUCKS! I just had to go to the next higher age bracket in my profile! :-(
