WestJet Airlines Ltd. said yesterday its traffic for the month of February was up 58.4%.
However, the increase came on a 63.5% rise in capacity, meaning its planes were flying less full than a year ago. They were 68.5% full on average, down from 70.7% a year earlier. "Even though our load factor was somewhat depressed over last year, I am still pleased with our traffic results for February," said Clive Beddoe, president and chief executive.
Guys, if this doesn't prove that WJ is going bankrupt within the next 6 weeks, then I don't know what is...-2.2%...that is HUGE! Even Clive is shaking: he says "our load factor was depressing last year"...if the CEO says that, it *definitely* means they are going under.
And with Air Canada getting their new A340-500s this year, AC will be there to pick up the pieces.
Now, if only Air Canada bought 757s, they would force Transat to go bankrupt, too.
With that in mind, they should also buy SABRE from AA and steal AA's traffic. I wonder why they haven't thought of this before!!!!!!
