Hello, can anyone tell me is it a violation of the law to listen to ATC conversations through the Airband Radios at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport?
Thanks in advance

Also, can you tell me which Airband Radio is best to get, for both value and quality.
Thanks a lot

In Australia, legally you are allowed to listen to any radio broadcast, even if its millitary, as long as you do not use the information in the broadcast to your own benifit or somthing like that. Of course every news outlet in australia breaks the law everyday when they listen to the police freq to find out where the action is happening.

There is a story of a guy who lived next to a military base somewhere in australia, and listened into their coded transmissions and actually broke their codes. The military moved in and took all his radio gear, but a week later had to give it all back because the guy did nothing illegal.
