According to the nwa.com flight info page, 17 diverted to SEA for "mechanical" reasons. New ETD out of SEA is 1805 local.

A NW 744 flying from NRT to DTW diverted to Anchorage for a sick passenger. I actually talked to some of the passengers today on that flight, I was in the International Arrivals section at DTW and they were pretty pissed about this woman. They said that the plane landed and some crew came on board, she refused to get off for a half an hour and the plane wasnt leaving till she did. I guess there was talk going around the plane of people wanting to physically throw her off.

Wow, this DTW flight wa sin addition to the JFK-NRT flight that diverted to SEA.

That DTW flight reminds me of the only flight I have been on that was ever diverted. I was nonrevving in first rom SEA to MEM and about an hour out of SEA this girl starting having breathing problems, turned very pale white and needed oxygen. It persisted for a while and eventually after consulting with the mayo clinic we diverted to DEN. People were sympathetic I guess because she was ill. Though at the same time people were to miss their connections in MEM and would have to wait for the last bank (pre 9/11) of flights. The paramedics arrived and escorted her off the plane. She looked alot better and then had the nerve to want to continue the journey!

Later we found out from talking to the FA's that she had taken her fathers perscription antidepression drugs to help her though her nervous flying feelings, ontop of taking birthcontrol pills. Now, I know that mixing birth control and other drugs is probably not a bad thing, but taking other peoples perscribed drugs? Thats rediculous. People around us were kinda mad after hearing that, that stupidity caused our diversion...

Ah well... better safe than dead I guess right?
