Can some one tell me what it's like to be inside one of these. I haven't been on one and i haven't been on a 200/300 in a long time.

LOL ! A long time? To me the 767 is still a new airplane. I realize it has been 18 years but I still think of them as "new".

It is exactly like being on a -200 or -300 except longer.

I flew from ATL to MCO on a Delta 767-400 on March 1. I was impressed with the (economy class) layout of the cabin. The leg room was not bad. The windows seem a bit high in relation to the seat; none of the bending down one sometimes needs to do when peering out a 757 window. Smooth, powerfull takeoff, and quick ascent. No PTVs, just overhead monitors. A short flight, but I had the feeling a longer trip would not be bad.

I fly on the 764 often since it replaced the L-1011 from FLL to Atlanta.It is a lot nicer than the 763,interior is better,great airplane! I was really upset when Delta got rid of the Tristars but I am really happy we got the 764's!

Not really- only similarity is the overhead storage bins.

The 767-400 interior is not as wide as the 777 but it does have the same cabin architecture. Basically, it has the same width as the -200/300 but is a much longer aircraft. I flew the -400 from CDG to EWR in May 2001. It was a very nice, smooth flight and CO's 777 style cabin interior is very nice.

I flew on a 764 from ATL to FLL in June 2001 and I was far more impressed with it than 762's (I've never been on a 763 believe it or not). It's extremely long, long enough that DL boards it through the mid-cabin door and not the front door at ATL because most of the jetways can't accomodate the front. Anyway, it was very clean and comfortable. Search the archives and find my trip report for more info (IAH-ATL-FLL-ATL-IAH).

Delta's 767 (not sure which models) were great! I especially liked the fact that the seating was 2-3-2 so we weren't jammed in like on 3-3 or the like.

I just came back from HNL-EWR last night on a CO 764 and thought it was pretty good. I personally like flying the CO 767s (esp. the 200) over the 777s because I don't feel as crammed in. Sitting in a window seat on a CO 777 makes it difficult to get out to the aisle since there are two other seats to climb over. Other than the amount of seats, the two are virtually the same, the main exception being that CO's 767s have one more inch of seat pitch.

I flew it most recently from ATL- LAX in First.. great flight. If you get to fly in First, you'll have PTVs with the IFE from BizElite. Really enjoyed getting to fly on it. Seemed quiet, and a great ride... very smooth take off/landing/cruise. I hope Delta continues to get more of these birds and I get to fly on them more.

One thing I'd like to ask if anyone knows... the wall that separates first class and economy on Deltas 764s, they had like one spot in each wall section that was open during take off and landing, but during the flight they closed it up.. why do they have it so there is a spot to see out/thru in the wall? I've never seen this on any other planes.

Those are direct view panels. On newer model type aircraft the FARs require that approximately 80% (I could be wrong on that percentage) of the cabin needs to be viewed from/covered by a F/A seated in their jumpseat for TT&L. The F/As are only allowed to move laterally in their seat between 6 and 12" depending on whether you go with the FARs or the JARs...none the less the B-Zone in DL's 764s need to be viewed by the FA's seated by Door 1, so they have to put in direct view panels to accompish this.
