Good news - we're adding another brand-new 777F freighter to the AeroLogic fleet in 2019: “We are delighted to be in a position to put four brand-new freighters into operation this year. This will effectively modernize our own fleet at our Frankfurt Airport base and further boost our efficiency and reliability,” says Peter Gerber, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo. This sounds like deliveries IMO.

Well a bit of both. Lufthansa Group only has 2 infilled orders, both for LH, ordered this year with the Swiss B77W. This means an unidentified order last year consists of at least 1 777F for AeroLogic and I assume the 4th will be a 3rd for LH, seeing as AeroLogic is only getting one. This means the two extra are unidentified from 2018 or potentially not on the order books yet although this is unlikely.

Not a new order, but QR has converted 10 of their 50 A321neo on order to A321LR.

From Reuters:

DUBAI, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Qatar Airways has upgraded an existing order for 50 Airbus AIR.PA A321neo jets to include 10 long-range models, as a regional diplomatic rift has forced the airline to fly longer routes.

The airline said on Thursday that 10 of those 50 aircraft would now be the A321LR, to be delivered from 2020.

A321s are the larger version of Airbus' best-selling A320 narrow-body jet.

The airline said longer range A321s will help it launch flights to new markets where there is currently not enough demand for larger aircraft but which are out of reach of smaller A320s.

The order for 4 787-9 and 4 787-10 is listed with GE engines, it would not surprise me if this is United, especially with the 737s thrown into the mix.

The order for 10 787-9 has no engine selection, it could be a new customer.

I was thinking United for those 787s too. Although maybe odd with the 737? They ordered 24 more last month although very possible.

A good start to the year for Boeing anyway.

I could see the 6x 737 being UA also, add that to their previous 24 and it rounds out to a solid 30 aircraft.

No formal release from either Boeing or Etihad. Only rumours at this stage. Same with possible other Etihad cancellations. This thread is just for confirmations only.

In theory you are correct as previous orders were 40 A359 and 22 A35K, supposedly??? But I just copy and pasted from the Airbus press release which implies they had 42 A359 and 20 A35K on order and ALL A359 (Totalling 42) are cancelled??

I guess we’ll see with February update in the beginning of March.

Based on this and the Emirates juggling Airbus is net -24 aircraft for the year as reported so far.

Definitely not a good start to the year for them so far (although I agree the 380 thing had to happen).

Does the 380 cancellations not mean other order will have to be removed as well (as are there not other 380s in the backlog that will never be delivered at this point, beyond EK and whoever the heck it was taking up the 3, ANA I think... )

A380s left is 14 for Emirates and the 3 ANA frames.

As for other cancellations it's 39 for Emirates, 8 for Qantas (last month). Also the 20 for Amedeo and 3 for Air Accord, that to be honest were never happening have also been formally cancelled today.

So pending any other announcements it is -47 for the year. 42 of those being wide bodies definitely hurts the backlog value (but as you quite rightly stated many of those were just never happening).

I am interested to see what A's next move is at this point. I wonder if at this point they focus solely on process engineering and efficiency for a year and see what Boeing moves at next.
I don't care what you think of my opinion. It's my opinion, so have a nice day :)

Yes I believe so. I’m sure more orders will come along. Possibly this month and almost definitely a load in Paris Air Show, (for both Airbus and Boeing). By December I’m sure both A & Bs numbers are good. Who wins this year is another story. Definitely was Boeing last year. The widebody numbers are the key and Boeing has been doing well recently. I’m sure Airbus will pick up the pace though too.

Article says A220-300 however 133 is A220-100 in 1 class. Can you confirm which variant.
