British Airways Tarp And Plane Reg Number?

Sun Mar 17, 2002 7:45 pm

Hello All,
I have a BA tarp that was on the plane while it was being built at the BOEING plant in Seattle. It's really nice. It's about 16 feet long and 6 feet wide. The sucker could cover my car! I wonder how much something like this would go for? They are kinda rare.
Could someone also please tell me what plane this is registered too? I would LOVE to know. Thanks.

Being the 28th 777 i'd say its registered as:

G-YMMD

This 777-236ER:

Nope, thats not it.

Slight error, the 28th would have been G-VIIX

Hi Tyler,
if you give me the flight number and date I should be able to confirm what aircraft it was.

Thanks for the reply guys. As for the reg number for the plane, I am happy to have a it. Thanks for tracking that down! By the way, I have never had the chance to fly BA so I don't have a the flight number for you Donder10. I picked the tarp up when I was down in Seattle from a friend of a friend. I think that I am probably the only guys in Canada to have one!

As for the value, hang on to it for a few years. I'd say it might sell today for a few hundred USD. Save it for selling to take your future wife on a special vacation in 20 or 30 years.

BA777:

I was wrong first time, i have confirmed with a friend on the inside that the 28th 777 to ba was VIIX as i said second time.
The aircraft were delivered in this sort of order:

ZZZC
ZZZD
ZZZE
ZZZB (Was used for testing GE90s and ETOPS)
ZZZA (As ZZZB, test a/c delieverd later after refitting)

Then a few VII? Aircraft and RAES being delivered before G-VIIJ i believe (RAES was the first NEW a/c to be delievered in new colours and was registered to aknowledge the Royal Air something or other)
Then continuing with VII? until Y, then the YMM?

So from what im told VIIX was 28th

I am so happy to be able to put a "name to a face" if you will. It's nice to know that I have something very rare. Apparently the tarps are generally given with the plane to the airline, but I guess British Airways has so many of them that they really don't need to have anymore!!!

Cheers,
Tyler
