Deplaning And Boarding Denails.

Mon Mar 18, 2002 1:03 pm

i was wondering, now after six months have past after september 11 and after some incidents of middle eastern passengers getting deplaned, if i am going to travel domestically in the USA... i mean i am a female, but lets say my brother is traveling within the USA, is he likely to get deplaned or racially profiled?

i know it is stupid, but my brother is going to take a domestic flight to visit a friend in Saint Louis, he will be departing from BWI, should he worry?

he told me that he is going to have just one carry on and thats about it, in addition to his lap top. and he is so worried that he might get deplaned or denied the boarding.

Good luck to him. BWI security doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to racial profiling. I'm assumming that he is flying AA/TWA, and they've already had a high profile denial of boarding. (An Arab-American Secret Service agent.) If I were him, I'd expect the nasty treatment. I wish I had better news.

Maybe nasty was a slightly strong way of putting it, but unless your brother is very lucky, my guess is they'll throw the entire gauntlet of DC area security at him, and they'll add some paranoia for good measure.
