Well I took advantage of this special security last time I flew out of SeaTac-- good thing too, because if I had had to stand in the regular line, I would have missed my flight.
I figure if you're going to pay more for the flight, why shouldn't you escape standing in a winding line for hours?

He has an excellent point. Horizon runs shuttles down to Portland what seems like every thirty minutes. And they're full. Think of the business that would be lost if one had to spend more time standing in a security line than sitting in a car driving the trip.
Not to mention they rake in the dough...
