This is a question that all American Eagle pilots are asking too!!! AMR is paying the TW Express/"American Connection" companies to feed pax to AA (which by contract only AE can do), while AMR furloughs it's own employees and parks airplanes.
Basically, they can save a buck, so they are screwing their own people cause it's cheaper to contract out the flying. Make no mistake, "Connection" is only "Eagle" in exterior colors only. They are a label to fool the public.
This issue went to arbitration two weeks ago and hopefully by the summer, there will be no more "alter ego" Eagle flying. This is just one of many things on the table. Another is the real source of financing for their jets, which AMR may have helped guarantee options according to the ALPA boards. If the union grievance comes out as expected, there will be no "American Connection" by years end. I can only hope so, cause I want my job back!
