How Many Crashes At BOS In 1973?

Sat Mar 23, 2002 1:58 pm

OK, I've known about the DL crash, that year, but recently I've read of other hull losses at BOS the same year!! A Pan Am jet and a cargo jet??!!

So exactly, how many plane crashes were there at BOS in 1973?

While we're at it, how many other accidents has the airport had in its history?(EA Electra,1960) (World DC-10,1982)

Yes, I know about the Delta crash, it was a DC-9.
An other incident in BOS I cas remember was back in 1989 when a Trump Shuttle 727 landed with the nose gear up. When the 727 touched down on the main gears, the pilot tried to keep the nose up as much as he could while bleeding off airspeed to minimize damage. No passenger or crew was hurt, I think that only one passenger had minor injury. Does anyone remember that?

The Pan Am jet was a cargo jet.

Plus a Iberia EC-CBN DC10-30 which hit some approach lights on finals shearing off the gear and nearly breaking in two. I think several pax were killed in the incident. Captain failed to line up the plane with the runway shortly after breaking out of the 300ft. cloud base during snow and freezing rain.

Yeah, Iberia, that's the one I couldn't remember! Imagine all that in one year!!  Wow!
