Vision Question On My Class III Physical

Tue Mar 26, 2002 7:15 am

After a most stressful day, I need some information on my options after my FAA physical.
Apparently my eyes were 20/30 L and 20/25 R and a combined of 20/25 R. Now my doctor said I didn't meet Class II Airmen qualifications. My plan is to become a commercial pilot, however apparently with these values (with my glasses on) I cannot do that. What should I do? Contacts, Lasik, new prescription??
Thanx in advance  Smile

2nd class medical requires each eye individually to be corrected to 20/20, it sounds like you just need your lenses updated and then you should qualify.

You just need to have your prescription changed. As long as your vision is corrected back to 20/20 you should be fine.

You can also have an operation to get rid of glasses...I will get mine in three years.

Ok fabulous...apparently they didn't test me with my glasses on either (even though I told them I need them)...Oh well, problem should be solved soon.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
Thanx for your replies

btw...In the pilot community I read that LASIK surgery is a risky procedure and that some people have actually gotten worse vision from it Paris.
