Air Namibia's 328JET

Wed Mar 27, 2002 6:19 am

I did a search on this and couldn't find anything concrete- I was wondering on what routes Air Namibia uses/ plans to use its DO328JET on? Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I once heard these were intended to replace two of the Beech 1900Ds, still, only one was delivered as far as I know. No idea about the routes it flies.

Other news from SW: 40% of the company has been bought by SA Airlink, the deal will take effect on June 30th. The b747-400 Combi will be leased out and replaced by two smaller aircraft, type and source unknown (I *could* see them getting two of the LH A340-200 which will go to SAA on comparably short-term leases, these should be the right-sized aircraft for them). It is possible that Air Namibia will get some of SA Airlink´s ordered ERJ-135, maybe they set up something like they did in Zimbabwe - only called Airlink Namibia this time!

That´s about all news I have, maybe another member can enlighten us further. Is there anywhere a picture of the SW 328JET?

I heard that the Namibians were prepared to permit SAA become their national carrier. However, an SA Airlink deal like Zimbabwe does get around bilateral problems, though I understood that this was a vehicle for regional flying only

Flying-Tiger- search the Forum- there's a post about the 747-400 that has a link to the 328 in one of the replies. Doesn't look as good as I thought it would though.
