Continental To Upgrade BRU Service.

Wed Apr 03, 2002 1:27 am

Continental Airlines who has a daily flight with a 767-200 from EWR to BRU and back will upgrade this service to a Boeing 767-400. The 767-400 is been at BRU before. Continentals first flight back to BRU after 9/11 was operated by a 767-400. I do not have any details but have been told that the bigger plane would be used very soon.

Grrr, is it so difficult for those airlines to operate the B777 to here?  Angry

But the B764 is better than the B762  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

It was expected, because of the possible commercial agreements they made with SNBA to Africa and to America.

Is the Newark flight going to have an SN flight number, and are the African flights going to have a CO flight number? (If they will code share of course).

For tomorrow is the B762 still scheduled.

It has litlle to do with a possible code share agreement with SNBA. Loads are ussually packed on their 767-200s and Delta has removed their flight to JFK from the morning 10.50AM to the afternoon 1.15PM.

By the way:

Delta has upgraded since monday the Brussels-Atlanta flight from B763 to MD11.

And from the 7th of April: UA will fly to Brussels 2 times daily with the B767-300 instead of the daily service we have now. Here are the schedules:

I believe that the San Francisco flight goes via London Heathrow and that the San Diego flight goes via Washington.

Manni, thanks for sharing the good news.
Keep them coming those rejoicing annoucements.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I have to confess that I've never seen a B764.  Embarrassment
Of course, I'm looking forward to spot this new model in the Brussels airspace, however -honestly speaking- I would have been more excited to welcome CO DC10's again rather than a new 767 variant (which probably rotates after about 500 meters and which makes less noise than a lawn mower).

By the way, I noticed that CO is code-sharing with KL on the route AMS-BRU. Is this just a one-day thing or is it a start for more to come?

http://www.brusselsairport.be/arrivals/

02/04 13:40 Amsterdam CO 9786 15:37 F70
02/04 13:40 Amsterdam KL 1727 15:37 F70

If CO is already code-sharing with KL to Brussels, then I'm wondering how much CO is still eager to code-share with SNBA to other European destinations?

Established02,

I am noticing this too already since a few days on the Brussels-Amsterdam flights.

At the guys with more information: if SNBA is not going to have a code share partner like Sabena didn't have one: are those routes going to be profitable?
Sabena's routes to Africa were profitable without a codeshare partner. If SNBA can have the same figures without a code share partner, is it smart than to start code sharing this routes with Continental?

Perhaps we ask Freddy Van Gaever if it's a good idea to just start flying big aircraft from Belgium without code sharing ..

Don't want to insult anybody but the codeshare on AMS-BRU has been in place from January this year and will last untill at least May 1st.

Sabena 690,

> tomorrow first arrival of the B767-400 at Brussels

Looking forward to see some pictures of it!

By the way, were you early enough at BRU to get a glimpse of this nice little gathering of TU aircraft?  Big grin

07/04 02:40 Monastir TU 7200
07/04 02:40 Monastir TU 7202
07/04 02:55 Monastir TU 7214 .
07/04 01:55 Djerba TU 7212
07/04 02:05 Djerba TU 7206
07/04 02:20 Djerba TU 8444

Tunis is apparently a very popular destination for the holiday makers! Got to get up early though to catch your flight!
