UA 747 400 At ATL

Wed Apr 03, 2002 1:56 pm

This morning (4/2) I saw a UA 747 landing at ATL. Can someone tell me why it was there for sure? I know they don't have anything near that size scheduled there so I am stumped...

Probably a charter for the NCAA finals.

NCAA final four and finals were in Atlanta. Maybe the University of Maryland contingent flew in on a UA charter. Tons of people flew down to Atlanta from the Washington, DC area for the game.

They did the same thing in Lincoln, Nebraska when UN was in the Rose Bowl...

I don't know if it was Maryland but I didn't think so since I go to Maryland and I was there for the game. I thought I would have heard about it if that was the case. If it was Maryland though someone should be able to tell us if a UA 747 was at IAD yesterday since they are not scheduled in there anymore either. Any takers?

I don't know if this might be the case, but I do know that Delta has painted at least one United Airlines 747-400 in their paint bays before.
