KLM Uk F100 Strikes Again (quite Literally!)

Sun Apr 07, 2002 2:37 am

KLM uk Fokker 100, G-UKFI, which was evacuated at Manchester earlier this week was due to take to the skies again today.

However........

...it hadn't even taxied from its stand when the Captain turned the aircraft to the right.......and the Fokker's stabilizer swung into the winglet of bmi's A330-200, G-WWBD which was parked alongside!!

I've got some photos of the two aircraft locked together, and will try and upload them in the next few days - they're good for a laugh!

Oh dear! Some aircraft are cursed! I know at BA we had a 744 that if there was something to wrong it would always happen to this aircraft! These "lemons" are just born unlucky! Qantas has one too, a 744 that just doesnt perform like the rest, you'll never find it on the long SYD-LAX or SIN-LHR routes. I wont give their rego's away....i suppose it is just superstition anyway!

Cheers  Smile

yah, those Fokkers still have this urge to go after British aircraft. 85 years on and they still know how to hit them where it hurts  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Speaking of cursed aircraft, did any read the article in last weeks Sunday Times regarding Monarchs "jinxed" A320, G-MONX? You would have been well pleased reading that article at the airport only to find out when you walk out that that is the exact plane you were getting on! Something like 28 reports in the last 3 years if I remember?
