Yes, I use my ICOM R2 scanner when I'm at home or spotting at the airport.

However, I also love to listen to the IAD/DCA when I'm on business trips. Nothing better than live ATC from your home airports when you're bored to death in a foreign hotel at 2AM...  Smile

Speaking of scanners, is there a new federal rule against brining a handheld scanner in your carry-on bags?(turned off, even the battery was removed) I recently brought my R-2 on a LAX-ORD flight. They spotted it in my briefcase going through the X-ray. I was told it is NOT allowed anymore. Instead of wasting time arguing with them, I went back to the counter and checked-in my briefcase...
