Aloha Goes North!

Aloha has announced that they will begin a new route from HNL to Vancouver with the 737-700 begining June 15th...I think this is their first International service....

Interesting! I wonder if there will be a discounted starting fare. I'll have to go check out the site. I know Hawaiian has a cheap fare out of Sacramento and Ontario, CA. For there new service. It was about $400 in the middle of the summer. The only problem is that it is expensive to get there from Detroit where I am. So it ended up being the same price as flying AA or NWA through the West Coast. I’m off to check out alohaair.com

Actually Aloha had a DC-10 about 15y ago that flew to Taiwan.

Their 732/73G fleet also flies to some sopac islands that are technically intl.

Air Pacific already flies YVR-HNL with the 738.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Here are the other two threads on this subject, in the order they were posted.

For this expanded service they are putting the newest 737-700s that are on property. AQ is not paying the leases until these aircraft enter service (I never heard of an airline having planes on lease that don't need to be paid for till they are used, must happen more often with new planes).

They will be competing with AC and Air Pacific (as mentioned in the posts, and some might point out that AQ maybe filling the void when Canada3000 discontinued service between the cities.
